Dream Job #47: Photohunt Maker

Wednesday, March 4th, 2009

Here is a recent illustration I did for a children’s study guide to a play being performed in New York City.

The theater decided that they wanted to turn the illustration into an activity page, putting the same picture side by side with a few differences for the kids to find. Can you find all four differences between this and the other picture?

Answer:

1. The boy has a funny hat.

2. The girl’s name is changed to Bonnie.

3. The seal and boat are missing.

4. The boy has lower self esteem.

Here’s the finished pencil for the non-denominational “Man in Red” cards:

Click the picture since BIGGER IS BETTER. The actual piece is about a foot by a foot-n-a-half. Normally I’d shade the drawing more, but time’s a tickin’ and I want to get this sucker painted. Good to see that the sixty-one meticulously drawn chimneys translate into giganto black dots when the picture is shrunk down this small. They’re pretty, I sweah.

This party’s just gettin started

Ain’t no party crazy like a raccoon party, Jack. Here’s the start of the finished drawing – most of the work today was focused on the hunter.

The corners of the pictures are dark because the camera took them like that, and also because they look fancy and put a lot of emphasis on the high class status of this website.
